Scotland's west coast and its Gulf-Stream-generated mild and wet weather provides a fertile environment for a vast variety of plants, including exotic and rare species from Asia and other places. Because of this, a number of interesting and notable gardens have been developed and are open to the public. The Linn Gardens at Cove are open all year round. Kilarden at Rosneath and Woodburn at Garelochhead alongside other beautiful private gardens in the area are sometimes open as part of Scotland's Gardens Scheme.
